The 4th Annual Christmas Traditions from Around the World was on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 7-9pm. The 5th Annual event will be announced soon. Just as in previous years come and enjoy the sights, sounds and foods of the season. Many community members representing different countries will be sharing foods and holiday traditions with guests. It is a night you will not want to miss.
At the 4th Annual even the Museum once again celebrated the different holiday traditions from multiple countries. Volunteers made and presented foods and traditions from many different countries: Poland, Mexico, Russia, Italy, Germany, England, and Spain. Entertainment this year was provided by Beth Allen and Judy Taylor who read different Christmas books, David Allen and Carol Floyd played Manheim Steamroller arrangements in the South Gallery along with Claudia Acosta and Stacy Allen who played clarinet and oboe, and Accidental Harmony, an a cappella group who dressed up in Dickens-era costumes and roamed around the Museum singing Christmas carols. And don't forget the visit with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their elf helper! Thanks to everyone for their help and support. The evening would not have been the same without all of our wonderful volunteers. Keep checking back for more information on next year's event and let us know if you are interested in participating!! |
